Agartala Nov 03: Acting on a tip-off police of west Agartala PS seized narcotic items including Yaba tablets and brown sugar from a scooty on Wednesday night.

Scooty owner Sankar Sarkar was detained by police after raiding his house in Bamun Para in Lankamura area.

Detailing the operation, Sadar Sub-divisional Police Officer Ajay Kumar Das said, “We are carrying out such operations and keeping a strict eye on such cases of drug trafficking as a part of anti-narcotics drive”.

Das added, the recovered drugs have a market value of around Rs 1 lakh.

The detained was produced before the Court on Thursday seeking 5-day police remand.
