Kailasahar July 15: Power cut problems were reported from Kailasahar VIP route since Thursday night which led common men to protest in order to remind the electric department to fix the issues.

The ruling BJP members even expressed anger after power disruption had hit the area since Thursday afternoon.

Reportedly the issue arose after fire sparked in the transformer and the authority even after assuring to solve the problems soon, failed to fix it by 12’0’Clock at night, resulted in VIP area covering around 500 families left in darkness.

‘Sai Computers Limited’ is in charge of repairing electricity services to ensure uninterrupted power supply over and above the right to collect bills. But in all aspects this obscure company has miserably failed to do its assigned task. This has caused serious resentment among people including leaders and supporters of the ruling party, at least in Kailasahar.

What happened in Kailasahar yesterday over the miserable failure of the ‘Sai Computers Limited’ to restore power service is truly unprecedented. It was around 1-00 PM yesterday that the power department’s transformer installed in Durgapur area under Ward No-14 of Kailasahar municipal council had exploded and gone completely out of order, plunging large areas in the town in darkness. The ‘Sai Computers Limited’ authority, supposed to repair the transformer and restore services assured people that repairing work would be done and power services restored soon. But when power did not return till evening a large number of BJP workers supporters led by senior leaders Milan Das and Siddhartha Dutta reached the transformer site and office of ‘Sai Computers Limited’ to ask why power supply had not been resumed but they found the entire office encircled by police and TSR jawans and no one from ‘Sai Computers Limited’ came out to assure them of anything.

Interestingly, Ward no-15 of Kailasahar municipal council is home to senior leaders and VIPs across party lines . The KMC Chairperson Chapala Debroy , vice chairperson Nitish Deb , PCC president Birajit Sinha, senior CPI (M) leader Kanti Lal Deb-all live in this ward. While speaking to media BJP leaders Milan Das and Siddhartha Deb expressed serious resentment over the malfunctioning of the ‘Sai Computers Limited’ and its multifarious failures on all fronts. But till 1-00 last night there was no power in large areas of Kailasahar.
