Udaipur, Apr 05: Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy on Saturday inspected the ongoing development and beautification works at the banks of Mahadev Dighi in Udaipur town.

The Minister was accompanied by MLA Abhishek Debroy, Udaipur Municipal Council Chairman Shital Chandra Majumder, Corporator Chameli Das, BJP Radhakishorepur Mandal president Sani Saha, local party leaders and officials from the concerned departments.

During the inspection, he reviewed the progress of the embankment and beautification work. 

He directed the officials to maintain high-quality standards and ensure the completion of the project within the stipulated timeline.

Emphasizing the city's transformation, he noted that following the successful beautification of Jagannath Dighi, the work for Mahadev Dighi is progressing well. Subsequently, similar work will begin at Chandrasagar and Amarsagar in Matabari.

The Minister expressed hope that once these initiatives are completed, Udaipur would become a more scenic and enjoyable destination for tourists. 

He also said, the decorative lighting and landscaping would uplift the cultural ambiance of the town.

Local intellectuals and culture enthusiasts acknowledged that in the past, such beautification efforts lacked the will and momentum they required. The local people said that the recent push under the present government has brought a refreshing change to Udaipur’s urban landscape.
