Agartala Jan 06: Hailing the Prime Minister Narendra Modi led BJP government in the state as well as in the Centre, Tripura Minister for Transportation Pranajit Singha Roy claimed that his department has achieved more than the target in these 4.8 years of governance.
The minister was addressing at the inauguration ceremony of Commissionerate of Transport and Office of the District Transport Officer at Agartala.
AMC Mayor Dipak Majumder, Transport Secretary Uttam Kumar Chakma, TRTC Chairman Abhijit Deb among others remained present at the program.
Releasing the report card of the department while mentioning the various public oriented initiatives the minister added that many more surprise are awaiting for the people of the state in this New Year.
Mentioning that the state has more than 11 railways at present including locals that has eased the travel and communication purposes of the citizens of Tripura, Minister Pranajit Singha Roy Said, "The approval for construction of double-lane railway track in Tripura will be received within next few days as the survey has already been completed. With this several important railways can be added that will connect Tripura to other destinations across the state directly”.
Besides, the Agartala-Chittagong flight will also commence very soon, he said.
Betting on points of welfare and development, Roy said, “The economy of a state is solely depended on means of communication. The government has the guts to show what it has done in these 4.5 years of short period and that is why we have released the report cards”.
“With more than 2 lakh new vehicles inducted in the state in recent days, new roads, national highways, renovation of old roads, airways, railways have seen unprecedented development”, said Roy.
He further said that to work smoothly in the present modern times, the department has upgraded itself digitally so that people can avail all the necessary facilities at the tip of their fingers and this has also reduced chances of corruption.
The other dignitaries present at the program also highlighted the various developmental works of the state government and the department of transportation.
