Agartala Dec 04: Organizational meeting of Mazdoor Monitoring Cell under Vivekananda Vichar Mancha was held at the Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan, with the members of All Tripura Asha Facilitator Association here on Sunday.
MoS Pratima Bhowmik presided over the program in presence of Mazdoor Monitoring Cell state convenor Biplab Kar and other dignitaries.
Addressing the program MoS Pratima Bhowmik said, “The selfless contribution of Asha workers during the times of Covid-led pandemic will remain written in golden letters in the history”.
She added, “During the dreadful times of Covid-19 pandemic when everyone was forced to sit back at homes to save their lives, the Asha workers worked relentlessly across the entire state”.
“They did not care for their families, children but fulfilled their services as front line warriors while risking their lives”, she added.
Convenor of Mazdoor Monitoring Cell Biplab Kar said, “The organization believes in giving respect to the women of all sections whatever be their profession”.
He added, “It is very unfortunate that in several programs talks are held on Anganwadi workers, Asha workers but the Asha Facilitators who are engaged with a bigger responsibility of maintaining large numbers of Asha workers at a time are not spoken of”.
This is the reason why the program, discussion meeting has been taken up today, he added.
The Asha facilitators are working as mentors, guides and counselors to the Asha workers across the state. They also supervise, support and build capacity of the Asha workers and also monitor the progress of the individual worker in the given area.
