"Prayas"- Police Awareness Drive engages students to combat social evils

As part of the 'Prayas' initiative by the Belonia Police, a significant awareness program was held at Belonia HS Girls School, focusing on critical social issues like drug abuse and child marriage. 

In his address, the SDPO highlighted that addiction is a societal disease and urged students to play an active role in resisting it. 

He emphasized the ongoing efforts of the State Police Department to build a drug-free Tripura through sustained interventions.

Also addressing the gathering, Sapna Majumdar, Officer-in-Charge of Belonia Women’s Police Station, stated the police’s firm commitment to curbing child marriage. She encouraged the students to remain alert and report any such practices in their surroundings.

Over 300 students participated in the awareness session, which was widely appreciated by attendees as a valuable effort to strengthen the bond between the police and the community, reinforcing the message that the police is a friend and protector when citizens raise their hands in trust.
