Prepaid auto service re-launching in MBB airport, Sushanta warns unruly drivers

Agartala, Apr 24: The prepaid auto service from Maharaja Bir Bikram airport, Agartala is all set to be re-launched on Tuesday.
Transport minister Sushanta Chowdhury made this announcement after holding a high-level meeting at the old terminal building of the airport on Monday.
In a social media post, Chowdhury mentioned that the meeting was aimed at permanently solving the issue of unruly auto drivers, who continued to hamper the process for a long time.
According to Chowdhury, there were several instances of such auto drivers harassing the passengers coming to Agartala airport.
This kind of harassment by any auto driver is unfortunate and unacceptable, he said, adding that appropriate action would be taken if such allegation of harassing any air passenger arises against anybody in future.
The meeting was attended by the representatives of auto drivers and various workers’ organizations. The Transport minister held discussions on the problems raised by the auto drivers and assured that steps would be taken to solve them.
Secretary of the Transport department U.K. Chakma, Commissioner of Transport Subrata Chowdhury, Director of MBB Airport Kailash Chandra Meena, IG (Crime and Intelligence) L. Darlong, Director of transport department Tapan Kumar Das and other security officials were present in the meeting.
