Agartala Sept 03: A group of qualified yet unemployed Physiotherapists on Tuesday placed deputation to the Director, Health Services demanding recruitment at the earliest.
The Physiotherapists under the banner of All Tripura Unemployed Physiotherapist's Forum (ATUPF) mentioned that more than 800 qualified graduate and postgraduate physiotherapists are present in the state at present without any sort of employment.
Talking to the reporters one of the job aspirants said, “In the year 2017, the state government recruited 18 physiotherapists through the Directorate of Health Services. Since then, for 8 long years there has been no recruitment by the state government”.
Apart from that, there are 11 vacant posts of physiotherapist in DHS for recruitment.
Trying to draw the attention of the state's chief minister, another aspirant said, “When we take part in various health camps in the rural hamlets of the state, we get to see that the PHC s and CHCs do not have any physiotherapist. Those people living in the villages are unable to get adequate treatment in this respect. And therefore, the state government and the health department must take initiative to recruit physiotherapists in those PHC s and CHCs at the earliest”.
