In the midst of India's vibrant democratic process, Rajendra Reang, the candidate representing the INDIA bloc, issued a fervent call to action during the second phase of LS polls, urging citizens to exercise their right to vote. After casting his own vote on Friday, Reang expressed concern over reports of malfunctioning voter verified paper audit trail machines and electronic voting machines in three locations.
"While there have been reports of technical glitches with VVPAT and EVMs in some areas, I encourage every eligible voter to participate in this festival of democracy without fear," Reang asserted. "It is imperative that each citizen exercises their franchise confidently, despite any challenges encountered."
Addressing concerns about voter intimidation, Reang reassured the public, stating, "Security guards have been deployed to ensure the safety of voters. No individual should be deterred by threats or coercion. Your vote is your voice, and it must be heard."
Highlighting instances of alleged voter suppression in places like Kamalpur and Sabroom, Reang emphasized the resilience of the electorate. "Despite attempts to undermine the democratic process, I am confident that the people will assert their right to vote fearlessly," he declared.
