Rational Pi (𝞹) Day celebrated by ICFAI

With the initiative of Mathematics Department of ICFAI University, Rational Pi ((𝞹)) Day was celebrated at Chhechuria High School on Monday.
The initiative aimed at removing the fear of mathematics among the students. Pi is an important mathematical constant that is an irrational number. Its closest rational number is 22/7.
In order to remove the fear and weakness towards mathematics among the school students, the Department of Mathematics of the University organized a program titled "Fun with Pi ((𝞹)).
In the program, Assistant Professor of Mathematics Dr. Prasenjit Bal gave a lecture on "Evolution of Pi". He provided a broad understanding of the evolution of pi in different eras as well as the role of Indian Mathematicians in the respective evolutions by showing various pictures and videos to motivate the students.
He also presented various examples of the role of Pi in various streams of science and technology. Later, a competition titled "Fun with Pi" was also organized among the students. The enthusiasm of the students was palpable throughout the event.
The ICFAI University is continuously working towards imparting quality education to the students of Tripura and educating the young generation in providing real education.
For the past several years, the University has been carrying out various social activities such as free village tuition on English and Mathematics, computer training, science awareness camps, Unnat Bharat campaign, providing free legal advice, Bio village project with Department of Science and Technology, various trainings for Divyangans and implementation of various projects for their overall development.
