Agartala, May 24: Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Agartala organised Financial Literacy Quiz at the block level for school students of Tripura.

The quizzes were held in Matabari, Karbook, Amarpur and Hrishyamukh blocks and covered the nearby seven blocks including Ompi, Silachari, Kakraban, Killa,Tepania, Poangbari and Udaipur Municipal Corporation.

A total of 248 schools with two students and one teacher for every school attended the quiz programs. The officials from RBI, Agartala, Shri Argha Banerjee, Shri Alok Chandra Panigrahi, Miss Debalina Deb and Shri Pankaj Raj Das conducted the quizzes from RBI.

Officials from Punjab National Bank and Centre for Financial Literacy also attended the program and helped in its conduct.

The quiz was organised to disseminate the message of financial literacy amongst the students. The students participated with great enthusiasm and fervour. The students were given participation certificates and the students who secured first, second and third positions from each block were given merit certificates along with prizes.

The programs included a Financial Literacy Camp before the quiz where the students are told about prudent savings and spending attitude, account opening, role of banks in the economy, Clean note policy and exchange of soiled notes.

Precautions regarding cyber frauds, safe and secure digital banking practices and complaint redressal mechanism were also discussed with the students.The students and teachers appreciated the initiative taken by RBI, Agartala. Their queries regarding different aspects of financial literacy were satisfactorily answered by the RBI officials.

The winners of every block of the quiz have qualified to the district level quiz which will be held in June.
