Kalyanpur Jul 3: Amidst much enthusiasm and fanfare a 33-kv transformer was re-installed in Kalyanpur after repairing it – however, within 13 days after the installation, the transformer collapsed, once again hitting the power supply services widely in Kalyanpur and adjoining areas.

The Kalyanpur Power division is already riddled with multiple problems including a shortage of staff, lack of an adequate number of vehicles to attend ‘calls’ from different parts of the area for restoring faulty lines. The collapse of the repaired transformer has added salt to the already vulnerable power supply system. People are venting resentment as different areas in Kalyanpur are going without power and there is no hope for immediate restoration of the power supply.

With disturbances in power supply, people will have to face a tough time in getting water supply regularly.
