Kumarghat April 02: Frustrated local residents of the Kauligura Gram Panchayat area in Kailashahar have once again resorted to blocking Kumarghat main Road, demanding a solution to their persistent drinking water crisis.
The protest highlights their dissatisfaction with the inaction of Panchayat Chief Nepal Das, who they claim has failed to address their concerns for an extended period.
Notably, this is not the first time residents have taken such measures; they previously organized a similar blockade just a few days ago.
However, with no tangible solution or response from the authorities, the people have been compelled to repeat their protest, seeking urgent action to resolve the water scarcity that has significantly disrupted their daily lives.
Talking to the reporters one of the agitating locals said, “We all know how important water is for us, especially with the arrival of summer. For a long time, we have been suffering from an acute drinking water crisis. But despite repeated appeals to the concerned authorities, no action has been taken so far to address the crucial issue”.
The protesting locals called for immediate attention from relevant authorities to address the grievances and restore water availability in the area.
