Agartala May 25: In commemoration of the birth anniversary of renowned rebel poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, an inspiring tribute program was held on Saturday in Agartala.
The event, organized by the Information and Culture Department, aimed to celebrate the multifaceted talent of this iconic figure in Bengali literature.
During the program on Saturday evening, dignitaries including Dr. PK Chakraborty, Secretary of the Department of Information and Culture, Joint Director Anupam Chakraborty and Joint Director Sanjib Chakma addressed the audience.
Secretary PK Chakraborty lauded Kazi Nazrul Islam’s contributions as a poet, writer, singer, soldier, philosopher, and political visionary.
The discussions centered on Nazrul’s life, literary works, and unwavering commitment to social and political causes.
Earlier in the day, a morning program took place at Nazrul Kalakshetra, where Secretary PK Chakraborty, Joint Director Anupam Chakraborty, and Joint Director Sanjib Chakma paid homage by garlanding the portrait of Kazi Nazrul.
The celebration continued into the evening at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan, where artists from various cultural organizations enthralled the audience with soul-stirring Nazrul songs and captivating dances.
The tribute program served as a fitting homage to Kazi Nazrul Islam’s enduring legacy, inspiring all present to cherish the richness of Bengali literature and artistic expression.
