Agartala, July 01: To commemorate the National Doctors’ Day here at Agartala, the Rotary Club of Agartala took a year-long initiative of distributing free meal mainly to the patient parties of the Agartala IGM hospital and other walks of life. The initiative will last till June 30 next year.

On the occasion of the celebration of Doctors’ Day, the Rotary Club on Friday organised an event with the doctors of the state at Agartala Muktadhara auditorium, where the youngest principal of medical college in North-East – Dr. Arindam Dutta and senior surgeon Dr. Amarendra Debbarma were felicitated. Justice Arindam Lodh was present as the Chief Guest of the event.

The Rotary club also felicitated two MBBS toppers from the state of Tripura – Sagarika Dutta of Tripura Medical College and Hospital at Agartala Hapania and Nandini Bhowmik of Agartala Government Medical College and Hospital, said Dr. Achintya Bhattacharjee.

A cultural event was also organised in the auditorium, where the doctors performed various cultural activities.
