Agartala, July 14, 2022: TUIRPC and Republican Party of India (Athawale), West Tripura District Committee jointly organized a rally in the capital city on Thursday and later submitted a memorandum in the office of the West Tripura District Magistrate.

Talking to the reporters in this context, Joint Movement working president of RPI (Athawale) West District Committee and Twipra United Indigenous Returnees Peoples’ Council (TUIRPC) Ananta Debbarma said “We are placing a deputation to the West Tripura DM’s office with a memorandum of 43-point charter of demands addressing the Chief Minister of the state for fulfilling our demands.”

“In 1998 and 2004, agreements were done in presence of the officials of Indian government, Tripura government and representatives of TUIRPC for fulfillment of our demands. But till now, all those demands have not been fulfilled”, he added.

Ananta further added “Hence, we are writing to the Indian government and Chief Minister through the DM of all the eight districts of Tripura”.

The leaders declared to hold ‘Secretariat Abhiyan’ with their demands and later to hold “Rasta Roko” movement.

They further warned to call for strike if the demands are not fulfilled in stipulated time.
