Agartala, Aug 26: With the Motto of serving humanity in this difficult time of flood crisis, the Rotary Club of Agartala conducted two flood relief camps at Palatana HS school and Sonamura Chowmuhani, Udaipur on Monday.
Dry food, milk and clothes were distributed in the relief camps among 250 beneficiaries.
About 45 patients were treated at the Palatana camp. Rice, Dal, Soyabean, Britannia Cake and Milk were distributed at Sonamura Chowmuhani, Udaipur; total 350 beneficiaries were there.
About eight Rotarians including two doctors attended the two camps.
The Rotary Club of Agartala in a press note reiterated its commitment to serve the people in challenging time and in continuation of its effort to help the needy, the club members enthusiastically participated in flood relief activities along with other NG0s, Clubs, Local bodies, PRI Bodi, and Government Machineries.
In their effort to serve the flood affected people the rotarians of Rotary Club of Agartala on August 23 distributed packaged water bottles, milk and food, biscuits in three relief camps-- Dr. B.R Amedkar Higher Seconda, School, Joynagar, South Raninagar, Anganuadi Centre-2, Ward No.35 and AMC English Medium School, Indira Colony, where the beneficiaries were 400, 150 and 35 respectively.
Again on August 24, the club distributed fruits, packaged food and milk to the food victims at Indranagar Kalibari and Naogoun Krishnagar Highs Secondary School relief camps, where the beneficiaries were 50 and 30 respectively.
The club President Rtn. Hari Saha, Secretary Rtn. Dr. Bidhan Goswami, Rtn. Kishalay Ghosh, Rtn. Dr. Sarbani Debbarma, Rtn. Sukanta Coswami, Rtn. Priya Nath Das, Rtn. Er. John Dehharma, Rtn. Dulal Debnath, Rtn Subir Bhaumik, Club Treasurer Rtn. Er. Tarun Kumar Das attended the distribution programme.
In a statement, Secretary Rtn. Dr. Bidhan Goswami informed that they will continue rendering the humanitarian aid to the flood victims including medical help and not only in Agartala but in other parts of the state too.
