Agartala, July 10: Shashi Kala Kendra, a renowned musical institute of the state, organised a blood donation camp on Sunday at IMA House  to mark the occasion of Guru Purnima.

Agartala Press Club secretary Pranab Sarkar attended the programme as chief guest while Agartala Municipal Corporation councillors Snigdha Das 
Bhaswati Debbarma was present as special guests.

"This kind of initiative is really appreciable. The organisation ( Shashi Kala Kendra) has also their involvement in many other social services," said Sarkar in his inaugural speech.

Snigdha Das and Bhaswati Debbarma also praised the institution for the noble activity. 

Principal and secretary of Shashi Kala Kendra Pandit Subal Biswas, also a renowned violinist in the state delivered his vote of thanks.

Total 23 donors took part in the programme. 
Shashi Kala Kendra was founded in 1970 by Lt.Ashwini Kumar Biswas, a Tabla maestro of the state.

Apart from imparting music lessons, the institute is involved in several social activities.
