Six B’desh nationals held in Tripura

Kailashahar, Nov 24: Six Bangladeshi nationals were arrested at Kailashahar in Unakoti district of Tripura on Thursday.
According to police sources, the arrested people entered Tripura illegally on Wednesday late at night.
Speaking to the media, the Officer-in-charge of Irani Police Station, Jatindra Das said, during a routine patrol, Police personnel led by Abu Aawal received information about the presence of some unknown persons at Tila bazaar. Police reached the spot and interrogated the unknown persons. Later, they were brought to the Irani Police Station.
During interrogation, the six persons confessed they are Bangladeshi nationals and entered Tilabazar after illegally crossing the border. They also confessed they came to India in search of work, the Officer-in-charge told the media.
He added, all six persons, hailing from different districts of Bangladesh, were scheduled to board a train from Kumarghat rail station for Tamilnadu to join in their workplaces.
The Officer-in-charge also said a Bangladeshi broker helped them to cross the barbed wire. The broker also assured them that another broker from Tilabazar would help them to board the train. However, they could not find the broker in Tilabazar.
Police recovered Indian currency worth Rs 4950, fake Aadhar cards, fake SBI passbooks and six mobiles from their possession.
