South Dist Health Dept briefs Post-Flood Health Precautions

Agartala Aug 27: South Tripura District Health Department on Tuesday organized a press conference to address concerns about the post-flood health measures that must be followed to remain safe and healthy.
Briefing the media persons, South District Chief Health Officer Dr. Subrata Das addressed concerns about water-borne diseases following the recent floods.
He said, “Water-borne diseases are likely to increase after floods. Mosquito-borne illnesses, including diarrhoea and cholera, pose a significant threat”.
He advised the common masses to boil water and maintain hygiene.
“To safeguard against water-related infections, water must be boiled before consumption. Besides, regular washing of hands, maintaining cleanliness can prevent spread of disease”, he said.
A dedicated phone number was also provided for emergencies related to post-flood health issues.
