SP Kanta Jahangir initiated investigation of theft cases

Dharmanagar, May 07: In view of the rising theft cases in Dharmanagar subdivision in North Tripura district, the Superintendent of Police of Unakoti district Kanta Jahangir had initiated investigation to unearth the theft incidents.
Kanta Jahangir took the charge of SP of North district in absence of Bhanupada Chakraborty. On Tuesday she addressed a press conference and informed that she is presently dealing with the increasing number of theft cases in Dharmanagar.
She informed that she had already received multiple information related to the theft cases and accordingly she is dealing with the cases. She further added that police of North Tripura district were instructed to keep a close watch on those who are accused of being involved with the theft incidents.
The SP on Tuesday also visited the houses where the theft incident had occurred to take stock of the situation and also chaired a meeting with police officers to review the incidents.
On the other hand, the police of Panisagar police station under the leadership of OC Debajit Chatterjee successfully recovered a motorbike from Assam Patharkandi area, which was stolen recently.
The incident took place recently, after the son of one Fakhruddin of Chandpur Shanicherra found his motorbike missing from Panisagar, where he parked it and went to a shop. He later filed a missing diary with the police station.
Responding promptly, the OC Debajit Chatterjee accompanied by his police force jointly with the Assam police managed to recover the stolen motorbike from Assam Patharkandi area within a few days after the missing diary was filed.
