Sports infrastructures being developed in Tripura, says CM

Agartala, July 17: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Sunday said the state government is taking various steps for development of sports infrastructures and advance training so that the state's youths can achieve success in the national-level.
He was addressing a programme-- inauguration of MBB Cricket Player's Hostel organised by the Tripura Cricket Association.
As part of the inaugural ceremony, Dr. Saha, who held the position of the president of the Tripura Cricket Association for around four years since 2019, was felicitated.
Addressing the programme, the Chief Minister said, the state government is committed to take the state's sports arena to a new height and to achieve the goal, various initiatives have already been taken for development of the sports infrastructures as well as setting up modern training facilities.
He also spoke on various sports facilities like installation of foam pit for gymnasts and construction of Indoor Badminton Hall at NSRCC Complex ensured by the state government. Besides, various sports like Weight Lifting, Boxing, Yoga and Table Tennis have also been introduced in the new NSRCC Complex.
The Chief Minister also highlighted various on-going and upcoming works for the improvement in Sports sector.
President of Tripura Cricket Association Tapan Lodh also addressed the programme while TCA joint secretary Kishore Kumar Das delivered the welcome speech.
