State-level orientation training on maternal health, family planning begins

Agartala, Sept 22: A two-day state-level orientation training on maternal health and family planning commenced at Prajna Bhavan in Agartala on Thursday.
Secretary of Health and Family Welfare Dr. Debasish Basu inaugurated the session. Other high officials and resource persons- Dr. kamal Reang, Member Secretary of NHM Tripura, SPO RCH Dr. Sanjoy Rudra Paul, Dr. Kallol Roy, State Nodal Officer of Family Planning, Dr. Mousumi Sarkar, State Nodal Officer NUHM, Dr. Abhijit Das, State Nodal Officer (HWC), Nabanita Dey , Senior Program Officer (NISHTHA Jhpiego) were also present.
Secretary Health emphasized on pre and post evaluation and also instructions laid down for issuing certificates based on post evaluation result to best performing CHOs. Key note has been given to all CHOs to work as leader and so serve the community with all mandatory Services.
The state authority also expressed their gratitude for the technical Support provided by NISHTHA – Jhpiego Team. Total 614 CHOs will be covered by October 1 next, an official release said.
While interacting with the CHOs, it has been communicated to secretary of Health department that on an average 8 to 9 months performance based incentive is pending in few Districts and salary of CHOs are not been paid in time since joining in the system.
The Health Secretary assured the CHOs that regarding annual increment, issue would be intimated to GOI for releasing the required balance amount. Emphasis has been given on ensuring 100 percent coverage of precaution dose of COVID and proper counselling of Teenage Pregnancy.
