Steps taken to strengthen Tripura Police for preventing crimes: CM

Agartala, Sept 28: The present state government is taking various steps to strengthen police for preventing crimes and curbing drugs abuse, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said on Thursday.
The Chief Minister attended several programmes in North Tripura district and then moved to Unakoti district for other engagements.
The Chief Minister, who travelled to Dharmanagar from Agartala in a train, first inaugurated Bagbasa police station which has been upgraded from a outpost.
He said, the full-fledged police station is a step towards ensuring the safety and security of the people of Bagbasa.
It is the 87th police station in Tripura and 11th in North Tripura district.
Meanwhile, local MLA Jadav Lal Nath has donated a vehicle to Bagbasa police station at his own initiative. The Chief Minister greeted the MLA for this initiative and said it would help strengthening the service in the police station.
The Chief Minister then inaugurated and inspected the new building of Joynagar HS (+2 Stage) School at Sanicherra.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, the Chief Minister said, "As part of our commitment towards imparting quality education to the students, school infrastructure is being developed at every corner of the State on a priority basis."
He said, the new facility would largely benefit the students.
The Chief Minister also interacted with the students of the school and asked about their views on various matters.
He then paid a visit to Satsang Kendra, Sanicherra and prayed to Sri Sri Thakur Anukulchandra for overall development of the state.
During his North Tripura district tour, the Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone of Kalacherra HS School and addressed a public gathering.
He said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been continuously laying emphasis on the importance of education for a stronger nation and the present state government has been working in the same direction.
"The transformation in education system that came through our continuous efforts is now visible everywhere in the state," the Chief Minister mentioned.
He said, the present government is committed to develop the school Infrastructure across the state.
