Agartala Jan 19: Having received the clear statement from state education minister Ratan Lal Nath on ‘No Recruitment’ before polls, the demoralized STGT job aspirants on Thursday said they would not cast a single vote for the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) in the ensuing elections.
The aspiring teachers once again laid siege in front of the state finance minister’s residence on Thursday.
Talking to the reporters, the candidates slammed education minister Ratan Lal Nath over his ‘fake’ promises of recruitment made to the teachers on repeated occasions.
“The education minister lied to us. as we held talks with the Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma who is also the Finance Minister of the state, we came to know that no file was sent to the Finance Department till date regarding our recruitment”, said one of the STGT job aspirants.
He added, “On the eve of New Year, January 01, the education minister Ratan Lal Nath told us that he has sent a file to the finance department for approval of recruitment to 108 posts and will sent one more file seeking approval for 1000 more posts and will recruit us all together in the vacant posts for graduate teachers. But the finance minister Jishnu Dev Varma, today told us that he has not received any such file”.
Upset with the changing statements of the education minister the unemployed youths further said, “If he (Edu Minister) had no intention to provide us jobs then why did he lie to us and gave false assurances”?
“We are fed up with the liar government and cannot tolerate such fake promises. It has to be stopped and therefore we won’t cast a single vote for the BJP in the ensuing polls”, he added.
The aspiring candidates further said, “The party that will assure to secure our livelihood and give us jobs after coming to power will be voted to power by us”.
