Strong security makes the Tripura by-election different

Agartala, June 24: The by-elections to four assembly seats in Tripura were different, particularly in terms of the prompt and strict efforts made by the security forces including BSF personnel during voting on Thursday.
As planned by the Election Commission, the Central Armed Paramilitary Forces (CAPFs) were deployed for guarding the polling stations and they reportedly left no stone unturned to make a difference—be it helping the senior citizens or preventing electoral malpractice in any polling station.
Similar was the security personnel’s role outside the polling stations. Whenever they saw a large gathering along any polling station or received any such information, they took no time to act tough.
As the opposition parties claimed that the people had resisted in case of any attempts to restrict their entry into polling stations and come out with courage to exercise their democratic rights, it literally gave a meaning to the strong security arrangements made by the Election Commission.
Amid reports of some stray incidents, the security personnel did a commendable job to ensure that the people exercise their franchise without any fear.
