Students manage PS, get hands-on experience on police responsibilities

Kalyanpur, Jan 18: In an innovative initiative of Tripura Police, a group of school students managed Kalyanpur police station for a short period on Saturday. The students were given hands-on experience of police’s function.
The event was organized on Saturday in the presence of DIG Sanjay Roy as part of the Police Week celebrations.
Students from Smaranjay High School and Kunjaban High School participated in the programme. The primary goal of the initiative was to provide students with a practical understanding of law and order.
For a brief period, a boy and a girl were even given the opportunity to sit in the chairs of the Officer-in-Charge (OC) and Second Officer of the Kalyanpur police station.
During the event, students were introduced to the intricacies of managing law and order, handling complaints, filing General Diary (GD) entries, and managing cases. Officers explained the procedures in detail, giving students a closer look at the responsibilities of police work.
The students expressed their pride and excitement at being part of such an enriching experience.
Among others, the event was attended by nearly all officers of the police station, including Teliamura Sub-Divisional Police Officer Pannalal Sen, Kalyanpur OC Tapas Malakar, and Second Officer Ranjit Sarkar.
