Kanchanpur, Sept 03: Students of Kanchanpur Government English Medium Bidya Jyoti School's primary section blocked the Kanchanpur-Dharmanagar road, demanding an adequate number of teachers on Tuesday. The students, along with their parents, chanted slogans like "We want teachers" to highlight their plight.
Protesting students claimed that for a long time, the school, which has over 500 students, has been facing a severe shortage of teachers. Due to the lack of sufficient staff, classes are often disrupted, and the quality of education has been compromised.
After a three-hour-long protest, the Kanchanpur Block Education Officer arrived at the scene and assured the protesters that their demands would be addressed. Following the assurance, the students and parents lifted the blockade.
