Sudip Datta Bhowmik remembered on 7th anniversary of his murder, journalists demand justice

Agartala, Nov 21: The journalist, Sudip Datta Bhowmik, who was murdered on November 21, 2017, at the Tripura State Rifles’ 2nd Battalion headquarters near Agartala, was remembered on Thursday evening by his fellow journalists.
A remembrance programme was held at Rabindra Bhavan premises, where candles were lit in his memory and a commitment was reaffirmed to continue the movement until the culprits are brought to justice.
Sudip, a senior journalist with Syandan Patrika and News Vanguard, was shot dead by TSR rifleman Nandalal Reang after an argument during a professional visit, allegedly on the orders of Commandant Tapan Debbarma.
Interacting with the media, veteran journalist and founder of Syandan Patrika, Subal Kumar Dey, remembered the late Sudip Datta Bhowmik. He highlighted that Sudip, known for his investigative journalism that exposed corruption, had sparked widespread outrage following his tragic murder.
Although the accused were arrested, delays in the judicial process have left the case unresolved, with journalists continuing their fight for justice.
