Agartala, Oct 15: The surrendered NLFT militant outfits will soon form a committee to resume talks with the Central government regarding the implementation of Rs 250 crore package as announced by the government earlier after signing peace accord with the NLFT groups in Delhi.
Addressing a press conference here at Agartala Press Club on Tuesday, NLFT (Ori) chief Prasenjit Tripura said that the four groups of the NLFT will form a committee soon and held a talk with the Central government regarding the design and the implementation of the Rs 250 crore package. The talks will be held only after the process of screening of the surrendered militant is completed, he told reporters.
The screening committee, constituted by the government, is currently verifying the details of the cadres who laid down arms before the Tripura government on September 24.
Describing the structure of the committee, he said that the representatives of both Central and the State government will be inducted in the committee to broadly discuss the special package.
He however warned against using the NLFT organisations’ name for any illegal activities and said that the NLFT, which was dismissed after the signing the peace accord with the government, will not be responsible for any illegal activities further.
