Team of National Congress leaders reaches Tripura

Agartala June 27: A three-member parliamentary team of the Congress has arrived in the state. Right after the by-election results, reports of violence terrorism has been received from various parts of the state. The sole purpose of visit of the three member National Congress delegation is to visit the affected persons, and chalk out the organizational strategies for the forth coming 2023 assembly polls.
It is alleged that the miscreants attacked the Congress office after announcing the results of the by-elections for 4 seats in the Assembly. Lots of motorbikes were vandalized. Pradesh Congress president Birjit Sinha was also attacked in the brick batting. Besides condemning the incident, a three-member parliamentary team arrived in Agartala on Monday on the instructions of All India Congress President Sonia Gandhi. The delegation includes MP Dr Nasiruddin Hossain, Lok Sabha parliamentary party leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury and Lok Sabha parliamentary deputy leader Gaurab Gogoi. They were accompanied by Dr. Ajay Kumar and Szarita, in-charge of the Pradesh Congress. The delegation visited Birjit Sinha's house to take a note of his health and interacted with TPCC president Brijit Sinha. MLA Sudip Roy Barman, former MLA Ashish Kumar Saha and others also accompanied the delegation.
The visit of the national leaders is also to take part in the victory celebrations for newly elected MLA Sudip Roy Barman, said party sources.
