Khowai/ Agartala, Dec 14: In a boost for the Agriculture sector, Tripura’s first agri-drone technology was introduced at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Khowai on Wednesday.
According to Minister for Agriculture Pranajit Singha Roy, who inaugurated the modern facility in presence of other dignitaries, the drone technology would help monitor the overall agri system including production of crops and spraying insecticide in farm lands.
He said, the use of drone technology would not only strengthen the Agriculture sector but also benefit the farmers.
The Agriculture minister said, the state government is working with a plan to make the farmers interested in scientific farming methods. He said, the state government is sincerely working for the welfare of the farmers.
As part of his visit to Khowai district, the Agriculture minister has inaugurated the new building of Krishak Bandhu Kendra at Hatkata area under Padmabill RD Block and newly-built 1000 MT rice godown.
Addressing the programme, he said, the state government has given utmost priority in increasing agricultural production across the state through modern technology.
He said, in line with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government is working tirelessly to make the farmers self-reliant. Besides, initiatives have also been taken to build proper infrastructure and platforms for the farmers, so that they can sell their products at the Minimum Support Price (MSP).
Secretary of the Tripura Sports Council Amit Rakshit, and Vice-Chairperson of Khowai Panchayat Samiti Tapas Das among others were present in the programme.
The Agriculture minister also attended an Input Distribution Programme under the project 'Out Scaling of Natural Farming through KVKs' at KVK Khowai, organised by Ramakrishna Seva Kendra, Kolkata.
