Agartala Feb 09: Alleging state government’s negligence in taking appropriate steps to recruit the candidates who are sitting jobless even after passing the qualifying ceiling, the TET 2022 qualified candidates once again knocked the door of Director of Elementary Education on Friday.
However, the aspiring youths failed to meet the Director Subhashish Bandyopadhyay as he was not present at his office.
Speaking to the reporters after meeting the other officials of the concerned department the candidates said, “Even after qualifying the examinations we are sitting jobless for more than a year. Earlier, the ministers used to lament about the unavailability of adequate numbers of qualified candidates. But now, we are sitting jobless even after having required qualifications”.
“Only infrastructural developments, inaugurating new buildings for students won’t help. We believe that the most important aspect of the education system is the teachers and people of Tripura are well aware of the shortage of teachers in state government schools”, said one of the agitators.
“Retired teachers are taking classes, in many schools there are no subject teachers, students are seen protesting on roads. Education system of Tripura would be in shambles, if teachers are not recruited immediately”, she added.
The concerned department of education with directions from the chief minister who also holds the education portfolio must conduct a special recruitment drive for the TET-qualified unemployed youths to eliminate the issue of ‘shortage of teachers’ in state government schools, they asserted.
The aspirants however added that the authorities of elementary education have assured that they are also willing to recruit teachers in the schools and are taking steps towards the same.
Meanwhile, around 361 aspiring candidates who qualified the TET 2022 examination demanded recruitment prior to the Lok Sabha Polls.
