Agartala, Oct 01: A solar- powered Mobile Banking van of Tripura Gramin Bank (TGB) was launched by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman at Itanagar on Tuesday.

With the support of NABARD, the TGB has been able to launch this solar-equipped vehicle.

The initiative 'TGB on Wheels' comprises of Mobile ATM and Banking Correspondent Service which is fully operated through Solar Power.

Some other programs were also being conducted such as Credit outreach program, Distribution of Sanction letters to the beneficiaries, Launch of Micro Enterprise Promotion Program (MEPP) in two districts of Arunachal Pradesh, Inauguration of Credit Linkage Financial inclusion & Rural innovative & Farm sector promotion project, Flagging OFF Ambulances/vehicles donated by PNB, SBI, NABARD, SIDBI, etc.

The event was followed by a review meeting of the 7 Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) of North Eastern Region that was conducted in the Civil Secretariat Conference Hall at Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh on Monday.

The Meeting was chaired by the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the presence of DFS Secretary M.Nagaraju.

The Key Dignitaries present in the Meeting were Atul Kumar Goel, MD & CEO of PNB, Shaji K V, Chairman, NABARD, C.S Setty, Chairman, SBI, Apurba Roy, Secretary (Finance), Govt. of Tripura, Sateendra Singh, Chairman, Tripura Gramin Bank (TGB), chairman of the other North Eastern RRBs and other eminent personalities of different statures.
