The newly elected members took oath

Agartala June 28: Three newly elected members of the Legislative Assembly took oath here on Tuesday. However, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha did not take the oath on Tuesday.
By-elections were held in 4 state assembly constituencies, including Agartala, Town Bordowali Surma and Jubarajnagar. The Bharatiya Janata Party won in three seats while Opposition Congress won in one seat. Swapna Das Pal in Surma Center, Molina Debnath in Jubarajnagar Center, Dr Manik Saha in Town Bordowali Center have won as BJP candidates. Congress candidate Sudip Roy Barman has won in the Agartala constituency as usual. The swearing-in ceremony was held in the lobby of the assembly on Tuesday. MLAs Sudip Roy Barman, Molina Debnath and Swapna Das Pal took oath there. Speaker Ratan Chakraborty administered the oath taking ceremony. However, MLA and Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha could not take oath on Tuesday as he has to first resign from the post of MP. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha would swear in as an MLA within 14 days.
