Three new girls hostels to be set up in Tripura under BJRCY: SC Welfare minister

Agartala, Oct 28: Three new girls hostels would come up in Tripura under the Babu Jagjivan Ram Chhatrawas Yojana (BJRCY) under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, government of India, Scheduled Caste Welfare Minister Bhagaban Das said on Friday.
Announcing the details of the development in a press conference at the civil secretariat, Das said, the new hostels would be set up in three different locations of the state.
He said, a 100-seated girls hostel would be set up at Rangamati Higher Secondary School in Gomati district, a 50-seated girls hostel would be built at Hrina Higher Secondary School in Thaibang Gram Panchayat under Sabroom sub-division and another 50-seated hostel would be constructed at Pabiacherra Higher Secondary School under Kumarghat sub-division.
The SC Welfare Minister also said that the Union Ministry of Culture approved a financial assistance of Rs 2 crore to set up bronze-made statues of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at Kumarghat and Dr B.R Ambedkar at Kunjaban, Agartala.
He said, the state SC Welfare department allotted Rs 1.5 lakh to set up a fibre-made statue of writer Aditya Malla Barman at Aditya Guesthouse in office lane, Agartala. Das said, preparations have been made to unveil the statue by the first week of November.
