Agartala, July 11: The Tipra Engineers' Society, Tripura has launched Educational Sponsorship Programme for the financial Year 2022-23 in a simple ceremony at Agartala Press Club on Sunday. 

In the first phase 10 meritorious students have been selected belonging to economically weaker section of the society. Almost all the students selected in the Phase-I were present along with their guardian were present in the programme.

An official press release said, 10 more meritorious students wpuld be selected for the Educational Sponsorship Programme in the second phase

Two most meritorious students-- Khagen Tripura and Kerato Tripura have come from Raishyabari and both of them have secured more than 80 per cent in Madhyamik examinations and now reading in Raishyabari HS School (English Medium) in Class-XII in Arts stream. They are not strong economically and could not afford for science stream.

Another two meritorious students-- Billa Mohan Reang, 2nd Year student of Dhalai District Polytechnic College and Rajendra Reang, CSE, B. Tech, 2nd-Year student of NITA have come from Gandatwisa.

Dhambi Rong Reang, a Class- XII Science stream student of Eklavya Model Residential School, Khumulwng, and Yogesh Jamatia, 2nd Year students of College of Veterinary Science and AH, RK Nagar, both from Gomati District, have also been provided the sponsorship. 

Ganita Rani Reang, who couldn't attend the programme, is a student of B.Tech (Electrical) 2nd Year of Green Hills Engg. College (H.P.) from Laljuri Block, North Tripura.

During interactions, all the students and guardians have expressed their gratitude to TEST for providing such Educational Sponsorship and they have assured that they would perform better in future so that they can get such facility in next year too.

The engineers' body has assigned their members as Supervisor and they will monitor the Educational Sponsorship and counsel the students time to time. The TEST will try to continue such initiative in future with the help of esteem members of TEST and all well wishers.

On behalf of TEST, Amulya Jamatia (President), Jiban Debbarma (Secretary), Bikarm Debbarma, Mina Debbarma, Rajesh Reang, Sristi Hari Jamatia, Dali Debbarma, Gourab Debbarma, Utpal Debbarma, Sanjay Debbarma, Niranjan Jamatia and Ashumohan Jamatia were present.
