Agartala Feb 01: Aiming to grab chairs in the Tripura Legislative Assembly, Trinamool Congress has also fielded candidates in 27 assembly seats to contest the polls slated to be held on February 16.
Trinamool Congress did not forge any electoral understanding with any other political party not even the CPIM-Congress alliance in view of the elections.
With Trinamool Congress Supremo and West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee to arrive in Tripura on February 6 on a two-day state visit, the Party candidates have already started reaching out to the voters personally.
Pujan Biswas, TMC Candidate for Ramnagar assembly seat on Thursday conducted door-to-door campaign in Border Rajnagar area.
Reaching out to the doors of the voters, Pujan apprised them of the Mamata Banerjee model of West Bengal government and promised them to take all necessary steps to ensure the welfare and development of the area.
Exuding confidence of his victory, Biswas said, “I’m already known face to the majority of people under this assembly constituency and getting immense positive response from them”.
“Mamata Banerjee led TMC government is the only substitute for the common people to oust the BJP from power”, he added.
Talking about the works that will be done for the people if voted to power, Pujan said, All the welfare oriented schemes that are running in West Bengal under Mamata Banerjee led TMC government will be implemented in Tripura”.
“Ramnagar assembly is a home to people of different communities. I will ensure that ‘division politics’ is not done here and everyone lives with peace and harmony”, he added.
Like earlier days, 9-assembly constituency candidate of TMC, Shantanu Saha also carried out door-to-door campaign in Banamalipur area.
"Party supremo is set to arrive in the poll bound state on February 6 to campaign for the party. She will join a road show to be organized on the following day", he said.
Besides, many senior party leaders including Tollywood stars from Kolkata are coming to the north-eastern state for campaigning.
