Agartala, Nov 06: Minister for Tourism Sushanta Chowdhury on Wednesday visited several tourist locations in Gomati district and took stock of the on-going works.
During his visit, Chowdhury inspected the progress of religious and heritage sites, as well as newly developed facilities, and issued directives for timely completion of on-going projects.
The Tourism Minister visited the proposed area in Udaipur’s Banduar where replicas of 51 Shaktipeeths are being established.
He stated, Shaktipeeths are among the holiest pilgrimage sites in Hinduism. The tourism department is setting up exact replicas of 51 Shaktipeeths here in Banduar.
The minister instructed all involved to expedite the project, which aims to transform Banduar as an important religious tourism destination in the future.
He then visited the newly developed Rajarshi Hill Resort at Banduar, Udaipur.
This hill resort, equipped with modern amenities and a scenic garden, has been developed as a tourist attraction.
Accompanied by the legislator of Matarbari and senior tourism officials, the Minister visited the resort and provided further suggestions and directives to enhance the facilities.
The Tourism minister, along with the legislators from Amarpur and Matarbari, also visited the Chabimura, a key tourist destination in Tripura.
An exceptional example of historical sculptures intertwined with natural beauty, Chabimura, is undergoing a transformation under the initiative of the Tourism department.
After reviewing the on-going works at Chabimura, he passed necessary instructions to the authorities. At Chabimura, the Minister also enjoyed a boat ride.
The Minister reiterated his commitment to developing these tourism projects and enhancing facilities for visitors and strengthening the state's tourism sector.
