Tourism Tripura govt's priority to enhance employment scope: Sushanta

Agartala, Jan 01: Minister for Tourism Sushanta Chowdhury on Wednesday inaugurated new tourist facilities-- two Force Urbania (16+D) buses and 10 FRP Pedal Boats—in Agartala.
He flagged off the two AC buses and boat service in a ceremony at Ujjayanta Palace to enhance the comfort and experience of tourists.
Speaking at the event, he said, the state government has taken a significant step to create new employment opportunities by promoting the tourism industry.
He emphasized the government's commitment to sustainable tourism development and detailed plans for improving the state's tourism sector. He expressed hope that these new initiatives would make the state a more attractive destination for visitors in the coming days.
The minister extended New Year greetings to all present. He noted that the launch of these facilities is part of a long-term vision for comprehensive tourism development in the state. He also stressed the need for innovative thinking and planning to introduce new attractions and facilities in the future.
To enhance the accessibility of major tourist spots, the state has launched air-conditioned bus services, enabling easier travel for both domestic and international tourists. The two newly launched buses, manufactured by Indian government-approved companies featuring modern technology, have been procured at Rs. 57.86 lakh.
Arrangements have been made to accommodate 17 passengers per bus. Additionally, 50 modern boats have been procured for water-based tourism at various locations, he said.
The event was attended by senior officials from the Tourism department including director Prashant Badal Negi and joint director Aniruddha Roy.
