Training programme held to fix issues in finance department

Agartala, May 22: A day-long training programme organised by the state finance department was held here at Agartala Muktadhara auditorium on Monday aiming to fix various issues pertaining to various works of the department.
The training programme was held with the Head of Office, DDO, Accounts Officer, Principal Officer of ADC, Cashier, Auditor, Commissioner of Taxes and Senior Accounts Officers of AG Office.
Inaugurating the day-long programme, the Secretary of the finance department Apurba Roy advised the Head of Office, DDO and Treasury Officers to work in coordination with the AG office. He highlighted the common mistakes pertaining to the bill preparations by the DDOs of the department and advised the officers to abide by the rules and provisions of the department religiously. He also urged the DDOs to have a clear idea of accounting of deductions in the bills before sending those to the treasury.
On the other hand, the additional secretary of the department Akinchan Sarkar advised the officers of the department to put in place their dedication and sincerity mainly on GPFs of the employees. He however found many loopholes and said that many employees are being deprived from their account credit pertaining to their GPFs.
He claimed that the department has taken many initiatives on IT fronts to make the service better for the employees, public and for better governance.
A technical session was also held in the day long training programme where the detailed reports on GST, Missing Credit of GPF, Final Pay of GPF, CTOS and HRMS were presented.
