Triple murder: Killer awarded life imprisonment

Agartala, Jun 24: The Court of District and Sessions Judge, Dhalai district on Thursday sentenced a killer to life imprisonment.
Laxmimoy Chakma, a resident of Jalachandra Karbari Para under Manikpur police station in Dhalai district of Tripura, has been found guilty by the court for killing three persons- Kinachand Chakma(58), Subal Kanti Chakma(45) and Henabati Tripura(43) and injuring another person- Premalata Chakma(50).
The triple murder case was registered at Manikpur police station on April 15, 2019.
At the end of the trial, the District and Sessions Court sentenced Laxmimoy Chakma to rigorous imprisonment for 10 years along with fine of Rs. 10,000 under section 459 of IPC.
The court further sentenced him to rigorous imprisonment for 10 years and fined Rs. 10,000 under section 326 of IPC.
He was further sentenced to suffer rigorous imprisonment for life along with a fine of Rs. 10,000 under section 302 of IPC. In default to pay the fines, he has to suffer more six months in jail.
In case of failure to pay the fines, the term of punishment will increase by 6 months in each verdict. All the sentences will run concurrently.
