Agartala Dec 17: On the final day of the 3-day long mega cleanliness drive ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit on December 18 next, Tripura BJP leaders including MLAs, Ministers, AMC Corporators, Karyakartas at different levels organized “Swachhata Abhiyan” in various areas of the capital city.

The three day long mega cleanliness drive under the banner of “Swachh Agartala Srestha Tripura” is to showcase the success of Smart City Mission activities in the capital city.

Divided in different teams, the BJP Karyakartas accompanied by AMC staff have cleaned all roads, markets, temple premises, office premises and other areas including water bodies.

Tripura chief minister Dr Manik Saha on Saturday morning cleaned the road near IGM hospital premises.

He was accompanied by BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharjee, Minister of Information and cultural Affairs, Sushanta Chowdhury, Minister of Jail, Fire and Emergency Services, Ram Prasad Paul, Mayor Dipak Majumder, Deputy Mayor Manik Das Dutta, BJP State Pravari Dr Mahendra Singh, local corporators and other party karyakartas.

Talking to the reporters, chief minister Dr Manik Saha said, “The cleanliness drive taken up by the state government and AMC has already set up the vibe centering the arrival of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the state of Tripura”.

The chief minister further urged the citizens to remain present at the Vivekananda Stadium on Sunday afternoon to listen to the speech of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In a separate program on Saturday morning, BJP state Pravari Dr Mahendra Singh along with Deputy Mayor Manika Das Dutta carried out cleanliness drive in Ward No 43 area under Pratapgarh assembly constituency.

Besides, cleaning the surroundings tress were also planted by the BJP leadership.
