Agartala Aug 28: The three-day session of Tripura Legislative Assembly will commence on September 04, 2024 said Speaker Biswa Bandhu Sen.
Addressing the media, he said, a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee for the three-day session was held on Wednesday.
The representatives of ruling and opposition parties and officials were present at the meeting. The session will end on September 06, 2024 next.
The Speaker also mentioned, two Bills would be tabled during the session.
Minister Ratan Lal Nath while speaking to the media persons after the BAC meeting said, “With the state undergoing a dire situation caused by the flood, it has been unanimously decided to hold the session for three days and not more than that as we need to be on the field to help the victims”.
“Apart from primary discussion centering the flood, two new bills will be introduced during this session. On the very first day, question- answer round will be held and the bills will be discussed on the last day”, said the power minister.
Nath further added, “What makes this session unique is the introduction of multilingual proceedings”.
For the first time, assembly members will have the option to hear the discussions in three different languages; Kokborok, English and Bengali.
Minister Ratan Lal Nath emphasized that this move aims to accommodate diverse linguistic preferences.
If a speaker uses Kokborok during the assembly, their words will be translated immediately, and attendees can choose to listen in either English or Bengali.
Similarly, if someone speaks in English, the option to listen in Bengali or Kokborok will be available.
This inclusive approach reflects the Assembly’s commitment to effective communication and accessibility for all members, said Ratan Lal Nath.
Apart from the power minister, Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, chief whip of TLS Kalyani Roy, deputy speaker Ram Prasad Paul, minister Animesh Debbarma, Leader of Opposition Jiten Choudhury among others took part in the BAC meeting.
