Agartala, June 17: The state unit of ruling BJP on Thursday said the Trinamool Cngress is trying to politicize the incident of Chankap Bazar of Surma where four people including a minor boy were reportedly injured in an attack on Wednesday night.
Addressing a press conference, BJP state spokesperson Subrata Chakraborty strongly condemned the incident and said BJP had no link with the incident.
“The people of Tripura have already rejected the TMC for its politics of division and violence. The TMC is trying to add political colours to an apolitical incident to misguide the people ahead of by-polls,” Chakraborty told the reporters.
The TMC leaders alleged that the brutal attack was committed by miscreants patronized by the ruling BJP. They also submitted a memorandum to police on Thursday demanding immediate arrest of the culprits.
Rubbishing the allegation, Chakraborty said a conspiracy is being hatched to defame BJP and misguide the people ahead of the by-election. He appealed to the people to stay alert.
Deputy Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Manik Das Datta was also present in the press conference.
Meanwhile, the state unit of BJP also condemned the misbehaviour of Congress leader- Szarita Laitphlang with the police personnel during a protest programme in Agartala on Thursday.
