Agartala Dec 25: The 100th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee was commemorated with great reverence and enthusiasm at the Bharatiya Janata Party’s State Headquarters in Krishnanagar, Agartala on Wednesday. The event was attended by an esteemed gathering, including State president of the party Rajib Bhattacharjee, ministers, MLAs, and dedicated workers from different parts of the city.

The celebration began with paying floral tribute to the portrait of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, honouring his immense contributions to the nation and his enduring legacy.

Rajib Bhattacharjee, while talking to the reporters, highlighted the visionary leadership and statesmanship of Vajpayee, who served as the Prime Minister of India and left an indelible mark on the country's political and economic landscape.

Recalling the former prime minister’s dedication to the nation’s progress and his efforts to foster unity and development, Bhattacharjee said, “The Bharatiya Janata Party has been observing this day as Good Governance Day. First announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2014, we have been celebrating this day as Sushashan Diwas to create awareness about the accountability of the government to provide all necessary facilities to the common people”.

“Like other years, this year too we have taken up a series of programs for the benefit of common people, such as blood donation camps, etc”, he said.
