Tripura BJP's election meeting held: Top leaders leave for Delhi to meet central leaders

Agartala Jan 25: Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb along with top leaders of BJP left for Delhi on Wednesday followed by an important election meeting.
The state BJP leaders are likely to take part in the meeting with the Central leaders to finalize the candidate list and discuss other poll strategies for the ensuing assembly polls.
According to sources, a meeting with Pradyot Kishore Deb Barman and other representatives of TIPRA Motha who also flied to Delhi on Wednesday will also be held in presence of Central leadership of the party.
On Wednesday afternoon, the state BJP leaders held a meeting here in Agartala where broad discussions were held regarding selection of candidates for tickets and poll strategies.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Dy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma, former chief minister and Rajya Savha MP Biplab Kumar Deb, MoS Pratima Bhowmik, General secretaries of Tripura BJP among others remained present at the meeting.
Besides, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will also remain present at the meeting scheduled to be held in Delhi tonight.
Meanwhile, Tripura will go to polls on February 16 next. This election becomes crucial for BJP following an alliance between CPM and Congress.
According to political experts, if the BJP-Tipra Motha talks get a final shape, the poll results may go in favour of the BJP.
