Agartala, July 14: The Tripura cabinet approved a new scheme- Puna Bonia for making the Janajati people self-employed, said Education minister Ratanlal Nath.

He said, the scheme cleared by the council of ministers on July 12 last aims at generating self-employment to the Janajati youths through gottery.

The beneficiaries of this scheme, who are members of Self Help Groups, would be given loan for purchasing goat, Nath told the reporters.

The expenditure for every beneficiary would be Rs. 2.51 lakh. Twelve goats would be given for one unit. The beneficiaries may also procure goats from open market or through Animal Resources Development department, Nath said.
