Tripura Chief Secy reviews post-poll law and order situation

Agartala, Feb 20: Tripura Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha held a high-level meeting with the District Magistrates and Police Superintendents via video conference to review the post-poll law and order situation.
Director General of Police Amitabh Ranjan, ADGP Sourabh Tripathi, Chief Electoral Officer Kiran Gitte, ADG of CRPF R Sahi and others were present in the meeting.
The Chief Secretary has asked the District Magistrates and police superintendents to be alert in view of the post-poll law and order situation.
The DGP stressed on intensifying night patrolling in the sensitive areas. He said. The police authorities and district administration need to deal with any incident of post-poll violence in strong hands.
The Chief Electoral Officer said, 100 companies of Central Armed Paramilitary Forces are still in the state. He emphasized on proper utilization of the central forces in maintaining law and order.
Meanwhile, several incidents of post-poll violence were reported from various places since the poll day- February 16 last. On the other hand, peace meetings were held at various levels.
