Tripura CM’s ‘Maharaja’ remark on Pradyut; TWF demands apology

Agartala May 25: Tipra Womens’ Federation, womens’ wing of TIPRA Motha on Thursday demanded a public apology from chief minister Dr Manik Saha following his alleged remark that questioned TIPRA Motha supremo Pradyut Kishore Dev Barman’s ‘Maharaja’ title.

Speaking to the reporters, TWF chairman Sapna Debbarma said, “We strongly condemn such statement which is not at all acceptable from a learned person who also holds the position of chief minister of the state”.

“According to reports surfaced in both print and electronic media, the chief minister while addressing a closed-door executive meeting of the party asked the workers not to refer Pradyut Kishore Dev Barman as Maharaja”, she added.

Reacting over the alleged statement by the chief minister the tribal women wing demanded apology by Dr Manik Saha at the earliest.
